Opportunity:

RN - Telemetry (Float Pool)

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, no block scheduling
* Float pool position based at St. John's Regional, required to float to St. John's Pleasant Valley (9 miles away)
* May also float to 3North, 2South, or the ER to cover med/surg and telemetry holds
* First to float every other weekend
* 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule (nights: Friday, Saturday, Sunday; days: Saturday, Sunday)
* Holiday requirement includes one major and one minor holiday
* Patient ratios: 1:4 telemetry, 1:5 med/surg, 1:3 DOU
* 31-bed telemetry unit at St. John's Regional; 50-bed ACU (combination of telemetry, med/surg, and DOU) at St. John's Pleasant Valley
* EMR system: Cerner
* Must be able to read telemetry strips (Phillips monitors with monitor tech support)
* Experience with drips required: amiodarone, cardizem, heparin (non-titrating)
* BiPAP and CPAP experience preferred; no ventilator management required
* Common diagnoses include pneumonia, end-stage renal disease, post-cath lab patients, respiratory distress, CHF, COPD, post-surgical, orthopedic, and cardiac patients
* High acuity patient population with primary care nursing responsibilities
* Charge nurse and resource RN on at all times; charge nurse does not take a patient assignment
* Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
* No IV team on site; nurses responsible for IV management
* Scrub color: Navy
* Minimum 2-3 years of experience required; travel experience preferred
* Experience with chest tubes preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* BSN not required; active state license required for submission

Facility:

This acute care facility operates across two campuses located within 9 miles of each other, providing a wide range of medical services including telemetry, med/surg, and step-down care. The facility utilizes Cerner as its charting system and maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support. The organization serves a high-acuity patient population and is supported by hospitalists shared between both campuses, ensuring continuous patient care coverage.
