Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Work on a 33-room Medical/Telemetry unit with up to 49 patients, including some semi-private rooms
* Patient ratios of 4:1 during day shift and 5:1 during night shift
* Work alongside a day shift team of 2 charge nurses, 2 techs, and 6-7 RNs
* Utilize telemetry monitoring equipment and Meditech EMR system
* Perform wound care, occasional bowel program procedures, and light burn care
* Care for surgical flap patients, including spinal cord injury patients with stage 4 wounds requiring surgical intervention
* Care for low acuity burn patients in partnership with the burn unit
* Minimum 1 year of current hospital Med/Surg experience required
* BLS certification required
* ACLS certification preferred
* Experience with spinal cord injury patients preferred
* Must be comfortable working on a busy medical floor where patient care experience is a priority

This busy medical facility specializes in caring for surgical flap patients, including spinal cord injury patients with stage 4 wounds requiring surgical intervention. The unit partners with an on-site burn unit to provide care for low acuity burn patients. The facility maintains a well-staffed floor with experienced team members and utilizes modern telemetry monitoring equipment along with an established electronic medical records system to support comprehensive patient care.
