RN - ICU

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available on both day (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM) and night (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM) schedules
* Every other weekend requirement
* Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays, rotating with core staff
* First to float - floating to Tele and any ED ICU/Tele holds
* Patient ratio of 2:1 in a 32-bed ICU unit set up in pods of 8
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Charting system: Cerner EMR
* RNs are responsible for reading and interpreting their own telemetry strips - no monitor techs on unit
* Administer and manage drips including pressors, antiarrhythmics, and sedation
* Ventilator management experience required
* Common diagnoses include neuro, cardiac, PCI, sepsis, ETOH, and stroke patients; experience with Ventrics, TBI, and Camino ICP monitoring preferred
* Hospitalist or intensivist in house, RT available 24/7, and pharmacy available 24/7
* Structured orientation: Day 1 includes 8 hours with ICU educator and 4 hours with preceptor; Day 2 includes 12 hours with preceptor
* Huddle report and bedside report required
* Minimum 3 years of ICU experience preferred
* Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue for RNs
* No acrylic nails or gel polish allowed during assignment
* BSN not required

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a well-equipped 32-bed intensive care unit licensed for up to 40 beds and organized into pods of 8 patients. The unit is supported by around-the-clock respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, with an in-house hospitalist or intensivist always available. The facility provides a structured and collaborative environment with dedicated charge nurses and resource RNs to support patient care teams.
