Opportunity:

SEASONAL - TRAVEL - RN - PEDS (643)

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Located on the 4th Floor in a 36-bed unit with all private rooms and parent sleeping accommodations
* Patient ratios: Step down patients (spinal fusions, chest tubes, high flow oxygen) staffed 1:3 and basic care patients staffed 1:4
* Day shift includes 1 charge nurse (patient free), 1-3 PCTs/CNAs, and occasionally a Clinical Nurse Coordinator as an extra resource
* Every other weekend is required
* First-time travelers must be willing to work night shift
* Candidates with multiple years of travel experience are given first consideration
* Minimum 1 year of current Pediatric RN experience required
* Required certifications: BLS and NRP
* Must be comfortable with high flow oxygen, spinal fusion, and chest tubes
* No CPAP, BiPAP, or trach/vent patients on unit - those go to PICU
* Typical procedures include NGTs, Foleys, TP Tubes, PIVs, phlebotomy, and occasional LPs
* Works with Philips Monitors and Meditech EMR
* Prior Meditech experience preferred
* Must be a team-oriented individual comfortable in a fast-paced environment and willing to ask for and provide help
* Flexible scheduling with traveler requests considered alongside full-time employee requests
* On-site parking available free of charge with a bridge connecting directly to the department

This facility is a dedicated children's hospital offering specialized pediatric care across a wide range of conditions and procedures. The unit operates with a collaborative team environment and accepts most patient types with the exception of trauma and burns. The department is well-equipped with modern technology and supported by an experienced staff, creating a dynamic and engaging workplace for healthcare professionals.
