Opportunity:

Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist

Job Details:

* Oversee assigned laboratory sections performing specimen processing, test performance, and test result reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements
* Work in a hospital laboratory setting providing sub-specialties including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, phlebotomy, blood bank, microbiology, and clinical microscopy
* Laboratory provides 24-hour coverage with rotational day, evening, and night shifts
* Work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as required
* Initially trained to bench technologist functions before being assigned to section(s) for lead duties
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a generalist in each specialty of clinical, high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory required
* Bachelor's degree in laboratory, biological, chemical, or physical science, healthcare, or healthcare management related field required
* Current, unexpired Medical Laboratory Science, Technologist, or Specialist certification from a nationally recognized certification agency required

Facility:

This JCAHO accredited health center provides services to a 4,400 square mile area and serves as a referral center for a large surrounding region. The hospital has a bed capacity of 73 and offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient emergency services, dental and ophthalmology services, orthopedics, OB/GYN, oral surgery, eye surgery, and urological procedures. The medical staff includes a wide range of specialists such as surgeons, internal medicine physicians, psychiatrists, pediatricians, family practice physicians, obstetricians, ENT specialists, orthopedic surgeons, and urologists, supported by a diverse and experienced nursing and laboratory team.
