Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg

Job Details:

* Work 3x12-hour night shifts per week
* Weekend coverage required with 2 weekend shifts per pay period, flexible with department needs
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* 2 years of experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred with 100-mile radius rule; no local candidates
* Required certification: BLS
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Trauma Level II experience preferred
* Float required as long as competencies are met
* No on-call required
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Manage a daily census of up to 48 patients in a 48-bed unit
* Treat patients with diagnoses including sepsis, CIWA, confusion/AMS, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications
* Apply the nursing process across patient age groups including adults and geriatrics
* Document thoroughly as care is delivered in accordance with regulatory and hospital requirements
* Demonstrate proficiency with skills including port access, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draws, chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, heparin and insulin administration, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and more
* Utilize interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
* Must be able to work in a busy and fast-paced environment adapting to evolving patient safety requirements
* Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills required
* Proficiency with computer systems including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software required
