Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

* Work predominately 12-hour shifts with possible consideration for 8 or 10-hour shifts based on department needs
* Shift start times vary with options including 8:00 AM-8:00 PM, 9:00 AM-9:00 PM, and 11:00 AM-11:00 PM
* Staff must be flexible and prepared to stay until cases are completed for the day
* Work across multiple recovery areas including inpatient PACU, outpatient PACU, Surgery Center, and Anesthesia Clinic
* All areas operate with a blend of Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery
* Recover all general, neuro, thoracic, interventional cath lab, radiology, and simple procedure cases (open heart cases go directly to ICU)
* ICU patients are recovered in the PACU with the exception of open heart cases
* Float between inpatient and outpatient PACU, Surgery Center, and Anesthesia Clinic as needed
* Weekend call requirement of 1 twenty-four-hour weekend call shift per month from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
* Weekly call requirement includes 2 additional overnight call shifts per month from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Holiday call coverage follows rotation with permanent staff, covering 24-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
* Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
* Ventilator management is handled by respiratory therapy
* Scrubs are provided for all areas except the Anesthesia Clinic; staff must provide their own navy blue scrubs for the Anesthesia Clinic
* Charting system: Allscripts (Sunrise EMR)
* Up to 4 schedule requests per schedule cycle are permitted
* Floor-specific orientation is 2-3 shifts
* Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC for inpatient and outpatient PACU and Surgery Center; BLS only required for Anesthesia Clinic
* Must include a copy of unexpired driver's license with submission
* Must reside outside of a 50-mile radius of the facility
* Any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission

Facility:

This acute care facility operates multiple recovery areas including an inpatient PACU with 7 bays, an outpatient PACU with 15 bays, a Surgery Center with 14 bays, and an Anesthesia Clinic with 6 rooms. The facility provides comprehensive surgical and procedural recovery services and is supported by 24/7 respiratory therapy and in-house pharmacy with Pyxis medication dispensing. Each area maintains its own charge nurse who also takes patient assignments, and unit aides are cross-trained to serve as nursing assistants and unit receptionists.
