SLP - Speech Language Pathologist

Job Details:

* Outpatient experience required
* Block scheduling type
* One weekend day required per week
* Average daily census of 10 patients
* 7 rooms and 14 beds available
* May float throughout the hospital on acute floors
* 40 orientation hours required
* Travel experience required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* California state license required; pending license accepted
* Required certification: BLS
* Scrub color: Grey
* Treat patients including adults and geriatrics
* Patient diagnoses include stroke, TBI, trauma, cardiac, spinal injuries, neurological disorders, and amputations
* Required skills include dysphagia, dysarthria, bedside swallow evaluation, modified barium swallow studies, Passy Muir valves, tracheostomy, ventilator-dependent/assisted care, oral motor, voice, fluency, CVA, TBI, degenerative diseases, Frazier Free Water Protocol, thickening agents, and patient/family education
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* RTO restrictions: no more than 7 days; all RTO must be requested upfront during submittal
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
