Opportunity:

Infectious Disease Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)

Job Details:

* 5x8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
* No weekend or on-call requirements
* Work at the same location every day - no floating between units
* Minimum 6 months of experience working as an MA-C in an adult outpatient clinic setting required
* Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C); MA-R, MA-P, and MA-HT credentials are not accepted
* Epic charting experience required
* Scrub color: Any color permitted
* Required certifications: BLS, CMA
* Required license: MA-C
* First-time travelers accepted
* This is a temp-to-hire opportunity open to both local and non-local candidates
* Required skills include:
- Vital signs: height/weight, 12-lead EKG/ECG, pulse oximetry, vision testing
- Exam preparation: positioning/draping, recording history/medications/allergies
- Procedures: dressing changes, Pap smear setup, aseptic/sterile procedure tray setup
- Injections: immunizations, intradermal, intramuscular
- Specimen collection: labeling, sputum, stool, throat, urine (UA/clean catch), vaginal, wound
- Laboratory tests: strep, urine dipstick/urinalysis
- Office duties: authorization forms, chart preparation, insurance verification, ordering/stocking supplies, pharmacy calls, scheduling appointments, telephone triage
- Professional skills: administering medication, TB test administration, aseptic technique, follow-up phone calls, lab test review, rooming patients, suture removal, wound care
