Open Position: RN - Med Surg Tele

Opportunity:

RN - Telemetry / Progressive Care (Step-Down)

Job Details:

* Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3x12 or 4x12 schedule
* Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on unit need
* Floating to other like med/surg units may be required based on census needs
* Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Step-down unit from ICU with no ventilator or pressor support
* Patient population includes adults with higher oxygen demands, dialysis patients, atrial fibrillation, and post heart catheterization
* Administer and manage drips including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotalol initiation
* Telemetry monitoring required, including on-unit and remote monitoring
* Skills required include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care, chest tube management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, pre/post cardiac cath care, pre/post hemodialysis management, wound care, and tracheostomy care
* Special equipment includes peritoneal dialysis
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Tennessee nursing license required
* Block scheduling type
* 24 orientation hours provided
* One pre-approved time off request permitted per contract

The step-down unit operates with 28 beds and a daily census of 28 patients, supported by a robust interdisciplinary team.
