Opportunity:

Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)

Job Details:

* Every other weekend schedule required
* No on-call responsibilities
* 2+ years of MLS experience required
* Blood bank experience required
* Travel experience preferred
* ASCP certification required
* BLS certification required
* Conduct chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices to determine normal and abnormal components
* Analyze blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopic techniques and procedures
* Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions by conducting blood group, type, and compatibility tests
* Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment including analyzers, spectrophotometers, colorimeters, and flame photometers
* Monitor and maintain laboratory supplies inventory
* Prepare reports of technological findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
* Work in compliance with all established QA/QI standards
* Maintain safe and clean working environment while adhering to infection-control and hazardous waste policies and protocols
* Recognize problems, identify causes, and implement appropriate solutions
