Opportunity:

Emergency Room RN

Job Details:

* Minimum of 2 years of emergency room experience required
* Patient ratio of 1:4 for days, nights, and weekends
* 8-10 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period, including a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts
* Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit
* No on-call required
* Regular floating may be required between ED Hold area, departments, units, and facilities as needed
* Block scheduling not available
* Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
* Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks; cancelled shifts must be the regular assigned shift length
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off
* Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
* Care for patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* Manage typical ED patient diagnoses, including occasional OB patients requiring management of mother/baby until transfer
* Required skills include cardiac monitoring, management of dysrhythmias, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilated patient care, isolation precautions, and triage
* Preferred skills include arterial line management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, interpretation of ABGs, and experience in STEMI and Stroke Certified Facility settings
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
* Preferred certifications: CPI and MAB
* Missouri or Compact nursing license required
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* First-time travelers accepted

Facility:

This facility operates a non-trauma emergency department and serves as a Primary Stroke and STEMI Center. The emergency department features 12 rooms and sees a daily census of approximately 50 patients. The facility provides interdisciplinary support including transportation services and is equipped to handle a wide range of emergency cases across all patient age groups.
