Opportunity:

Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit RN

Job Details:

* 3x12 or 4x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Weekday shifts with some weekend coverage required
* Blocked schedules considered for weekend blocks only (Fri, Sat, Sun or Sat, Sun, Mon)
* 13-week contract with possibility of extension
* Typical patient ratio of 1:4 with flex to 1:5 in emergencies
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics, primarily cardiac patients including cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures
* Unit census of 34 with 36 beds and 36 rooms
* Required certifications: BCLS and ACLS (must be through American Heart Association)
* Required skills: IV start and telemetry, including ability to read strips
* Minimum 1 year of Med/Tele experience and 2 years of Stepdown experience required
* Charting system: Cerner experience required
* Scrubs not provided; burgundy and/or white required
* Holiday RTO requests limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
* Skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care, heparin protocols, interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, management of cardiac and vasoactive drips, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and wound care among others
