Opportunity:

RN - Medical/Surgical Telemetry

Job Details:

* Work on a 23-bed Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:6 for nurses and 1:10-15 for techs
* Attend daily huddle at 6:45 AM (day shift) or 6:45 PM (night shift) and complete bedside shift report and required daily charting
* 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
* Float to other units as needed within skill set
* Required to wear royal blue scrubs
* Perform lab draws, IV insertions, foley insertions, administer IV fluids and medications such as antibiotics
* Prepare patients for surgical and non-surgical procedures and communicate with physicians
* Must be familiar with Expanse EMR, admissions, and discharges
* Telemetry experience required
* Previous Expanse EMR experience preferred
* Ability to draw labs preferred
* Minimum one year of acute care experience in Medical/Surgical Telemetry or stepdown unit preferred
* Work with equipment including IV pumps, sequential pumps, vein finder, bladder scanner, EKG, integrated vital signs monitors, computers on wheels, and Sera Steady
* Required certification: BLS
* Ideal candidate demonstrates kindness, critical thinking skills, inquisitiveness, and a strong understanding of patient safety and experience

This facility is a well-established acute care hospital offering a wide range of medical and surgical services to the surrounding community. The 2 North unit operates with a dedicated team including charge nurses, staff nurses, patient care technicians, and unit secretaries to ensure high-quality patient care. The facility utilizes the Expanse EMR system and is equipped with modern technology to support clinical operations across its departments.
