Opportunity:

RN - Neuro Stepdown & EMU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Schedule consists of 4 shifts of 12-hour nights per week
* Every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule required
* Holiday rotation participation required
* Possible floating to units 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10W
* 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
* Cancellation policy allows up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 for Stepdown and 1:5-6 for EMU floor
* Nurse aides available on unit with a ratio of 1:8-9, 4 per shift
* Charge nurse available 24/7
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7 to manage floor vents; RNs not required to have vent experience
* Telemetry present on unit; RNs not required to read strips
* Care for higher acuity neuroscience patients including strokes, seizures, craniotomies, and epilepsy monitoring
* Strong overall neuro experience required including history of caring for stroke patients and implementing NIH protocols
* NIHSS certification must be in hand at time of submission
* EPIC experience required
* Charting system: EPIC
* Acute care setting
* Royal blue scrubs required
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS; ACLS preferred
* BSN not required
* Valid RN license required

Facility:

This facility features a 31-bed Neuro Stepdown and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, with 25 stepdown beds and 6 dedicated EMU beds. The unit is part of a renowned neuroscience institute and provides care for a wide range of higher acuity neurological conditions. The facility maintains robust support services including 24/7 charge nurse coverage, respiratory therapy, and nurse aide assistance to ensure comprehensive patient care.
