MS Neuro RN

Job Details:

* Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* 4-5 weekend shifts required per 4-week period with holiday rotation
* Patient ratio of 1:5
* No on-call required
* Floating within scope to meet facility needs may be required
* 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
* Required certifications: BLS
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, NIHSS
* Care for adult and geriatric patients on a 23-bed inpatient General Neurology/Medical Stroke/Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
* Manage patients with diagnoses including Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, seizures, and medically managed strokes
* Support continuous epilepsy monitoring program with nine hard-wired monitoring rooms
* Care for overflow neurosurgical and spine surgery patients as needed
* Required skills include CVA management, isolation precautions/PPE, peripheral line care/management, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Charting system experience required

This facility is a large academic medical center offering a comprehensive range of specialized inpatient services. The neurology unit is a 23-bed private room unit that supports both a Comprehensive Spine Center and a Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, featuring specialized epilepsy monitoring capabilities unique to the unit. The facility provides a full spectrum of neurological care and maintains high standards of patient care across multiple specialty programs.
