Open Position: RN - Observation Unit

RN - ER

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
* Every other weekend requirement
* No holiday requirement
* Standby/call requirement included in schedule
* Patient ratio of 4:1
* Primary assignment to one facility with required floating throughout Region Two locations in Lakewood, WA, Enumclaw, WA, and Tacoma, WA when needed
* First to float policy in effect
* Float to similar floors within the facility as needed
* Unit consists of ER/Trauma Center with ER Observation, housing 8-16 beds/trauma bays
* See approximately 8-16 patients per day with common diagnoses including Med/Surg Telemetry
* RNs monitor their own telemetry and read strips independently
* Manage boarding patients waiting for hospital room placement
* Work alongside charge nurses, house supervisors, nurse aids, paramedics, and patient sitters
* In-house security available on unit
* Charting system: EPIC
* Lab draws performed by laboratory staff
* House transporters available for X-Ray and CT transport
* Respiratory therapy equipment includes oxygen and SVN
* Scrub color requirement: Navy blue
* Unit-specific orientation: 1 day
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Required certifications: BLS Certification and Washington state nursing license
* Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
* BSN not required
