Opportunity:

Phlebotomist

Job Details:

* Collect and prepare blood samples for laboratory testing using skin puncture and venipuncture techniques
* Verify patient information, label specimen vials, and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
* Enter patient, specimen, insurance, and billing information into appropriate systems
* Process specimens according to established guidelines
* Organize blood-drawing trays ensuring all instruments are sterile and all needles, syringes, and related items are first-time use
* Dispose of contaminated needles and biohazard fluids or tissue in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies
* Assist medical technologists and/or pathologists in performing designated laboratory tests
* Assist with maintaining laboratory equipment and records following established accreditation guidelines and quality control standards
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste, and other policies and protocols
* Work every other weekend
* No on-call responsibilities
* 2+ years of MLS experience required
* Travel experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA or Red Cross), ASCP
