Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg Neuro

Job Details:

* Work three 12-hour shifts per week
* 2 weekends (4 shifts) required per 4-week schedule
* 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit with a 6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
* Tech support available on both day and night shifts; unit secretary available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Document patient care using Meditech system
* Work with equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximetry machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
* Provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members, including bedside shift report and involving patients and families in their plan of care
* Required skills include ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, perform basic wound care, and maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
* Med/Surg experience required
* Active RN license required
* BLS certification required
* Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) required
* Contract labor is first to float; rotation applies when multiple contract staff are scheduled
