Opportunity:

RN - ICU/CCU

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Holidays worked in rotation with permanent staff
* First to float designation
* Float between ICU and CCU and possibly telemetry (1:4 ratio); option to float to ER with provided orientation
* Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
* 2-3 shifts of unit orientation provided; additional orientation available for telemetry and ER floating
* Charting system: Meditech (unit) and Cerner
* Scrub color: Navy
* Work with GE monitoring systems; RNs responsible for reading and interpreting strips
* Manage drips including cardizem, diprivan, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, fentanyl, and versed
* Ventilator management required
* Common ICU diagnoses include sepsis, CHF, COPD, and vented patients
* Common CCU diagnoses include post cath, lobectomies, thrombectomies, and spinal cases (travelers cannot take open heart or balloon pump patients)
* All independent physicians on staff; no hospitalist or intensivist in house
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7
* Pharmacy available 24/7
* No IV team on site; no nurse aides
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and advanced EKG dysrhythmia course
* BSN not required
