RN - Tele Float Pool

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available with day shift running 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM and night shift running 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
* Every other weekend (EOW) requirement
* Holiday requirements vary
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Float pool position requiring travel between med/surg and telemetry units
* 1-day orientation per unit
* No block scheduling available
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1 to 5:1
* Telemetry unit with 38 beds serving patients with diagnoses including ETOH, DKA, heart failure, sepsis, stroke, GI surgery, GU surgery, and joint replacements
* Required to read own telemetry strips using GE monitors (monitor techs also available on unit)
* Required to titrate drips including insulin, heparin, amiodarone, and cardizem
* Experience working with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment required
* Unit aides available with varying ratios
* Charge nurses or nursing shift managers do not take patient assignments
* Charting system: Cerner
* Navy scrubs required
* Minimum 2 years of experience in telemetry or step-down unit required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS
* BSN not required
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
