Open Position: RN - PCU Stepdown

Opportunity:

RN - PCU/Step-down

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM or 6:45 PM, 3 shifts per week
* Every other weekend requirement with 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule; Days: Saturday/Sunday, Nights: Friday/Saturday
* Self-scheduling for the most part with schedules made 2-3 weeks in advance initially, then extended to 9 weeks in advance
* No on-call or standby requirement
* PCU is a stepdown unit from the ICU with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio for closer monitoring of ICU patients
* 14-bed unit across 7 rooms with 1 aide available most of the time for all 14 beds
* Common patient diagnoses include ICU stepdown patients, TBI/trauma patients, major surgery, CEA, and sepsis
* Must have experience with arterial and CVP pressure lines, titrating pressors, Precedex, trach, and stable vented patients
* Required to titrate drips including Precedex, dopamine, dobutamine, and Levophed
* Float requirement: first to float to Telemetry or Med/Surg
* Scrub color: Navy blue
* Unit orientation: 1 shift on unit
* Charting system: Cerner
* BSN not required
* Must have 2-3 years of experience in specialty; open to first-time travelers
* Must be knowledgeable of HCAHPS and core measures, self-motivated, and team oriented
* Holiday RTO will be considered but may not be guaranteed; holidays worked into permanent staff rotation
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
