RN - PICU

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts
* Weekend coverage required
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Ability to float to other UCSF facilities as needed
* 5 years of nursing experience required
* PICU experience required
* Pediatric CVICU experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Teaching hospital experience required
* BSN required
* California RN license required
* Required certifications: AHA BLS, PALS
* Epic charting system experience required
* Trauma Level I experience preferred
* Unit is a 23-bed mixed neuro and cardiac Level 1 trauma center
* Patients include neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatrics
* Required skills include: arterial line management, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, IV vasopressors, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), ICP monitoring, management of chest tubes, care of ventilated patients, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, tracheostomy care, and additional critical care competencies
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, and interpretation services
* 2 references from most recent employer required at time of submittal

This facility is a Level 1 trauma center offering a comprehensive 23-bed pediatric intensive care unit with a mixed neuro and cardiac patient population. The unit provides advanced interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, and interpretation services. The facility is part of a large academic health system with multiple locations, maintaining high standards of care for patients ranging from neonates to adolescents.
