Opportunity:
SLP - Outpatient
Job Details:
* Outpatient setting serving both adult and pediatric populations
* Primary focus on providing Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) evaluations and treatments in the Outpatient Rehabilitation Services Department
* Provide services by physician referral across multiple settings including inpatient, outpatient, Home Health, and Long-Term Care
* Perform patient assessments, evaluations, therapy diagnoses, and formulate and implement treatment plans
* Document patient encounter findings and treatments including diagnoses, treatment plans, recommendations, and prognoses according to hospital and/or Home Health policies
* Collaborate with care teams, referring providers, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to review patient status and individual needs
* Direct the work of support staff, students, or interns as needed
* Develop and implement patient education and home exercise programs for patients and families
* May perform community-based therapy services including home assessments, community clinic visits, and Senior Center programs
* Video conferencing may be used for training, patient encounters, and administrative duties with off-site locations
* Occasional multi-day travel to remote locations by boat or small plane, possibly in harsh or inclement weather
* May require repetitive or heavy lifting up to 50 pounds with physically demanding movements and positions
* Must maintain current billing knowledge including Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers
* Adhere to regulatory and practice standards set by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
* Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program required
* CCC-SLP certification required
* Alaska state licensure required at time of submittal
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
* Pediatric and outpatient experience required
* Flu vaccine required
* Must reside at least 100 miles away from the facility address
