Opportunity:

Clinical Decision Observation RN | Medsurg/Tele

Job Details:

* 12-hour day shifts required
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call requirement; possible standby if floated to another department
* Patient ratio of 1:4 in a 16-bed unit
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
* ED and Med/Surg experience preferred
* Must be able to read telemetry strips; monitor techs are available on unit
* Required to titrate drips including Heparin and Amiodarone
* Provide total patient care as no CNAs are present on the unit
* Float to ED or Med/Surg as needed based on staffing and patient care needs
* Patients admitted for less than 48 hours with heavy patient movement in and out
* Common diagnoses include minor and low-risk cardiac, neuro, respiratory, metabolic, and GI conditions, post-procedure monitoring, cellulitis, and minor traumas
* Charting system: EPIC
* Professional scrubs of any color required
* BSN not required
* Oregon nursing license required; non-Oregon licensed RNs may be eligible for a 90-day temporary license

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a dedicated Clinical Decision Observation unit with 16 beds, focused on monitoring and treating patients with minor and low-risk conditions across cardiac, neurological, respiratory, metabolic, and GI specialties. The unit is supported by physicians, charge nurses, and monitor techs, and utilizes EPIC as its charting system. The facility maintains 24/7 coverage and emphasizes high-quality, efficient patient care with a focus on short-stay observation and rapid patient throughput.
