A 4 West Adult Med Surg

Job Details:

* Work on 34-bed adult medical surgical unit with telemetry capabilities
* Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 6-7 RNs, 3 CNAs, and 1 HUC
* Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 5-7 RNs, 2 CNAs, and 1 HUC
* Patient ratios: Day shift 1:4-6, Night shift 1:5-7
* Must have telemetry rhythm interpretation capabilities and critical thinking skills
* Required to assess medical surgical level patients and alert appropriate personnel when acuity changes
* Strong time management and communication skills essential
* Must be punctual and attend mandatory huddles at 0650 for AM shift or 1850 for PM shift
* Required to clock in no earlier than 0638 or 1838 depending on shift
* Must clock out and in for meal breaks per policy
* Work every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per pay period
* May float to other medical surgical units or occasionally to ED holding pod
* Perform typical procedures including IV fluids, tube feeds, PEG feedings, and IV antibiotics
* Required certification: BLS (ACLS preferred)
* Dress code requires navy blue scrubs
* Must be team player willing to assist CNAs and other nurses
* Work with Cerner EMR system
