ER Nights

Job Details:

* Night shift position in the Emergency Room
* Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
* Overtime begins at the 49th hour
* At least 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
* Patient ratio of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 40-bed unit with a daily census of 90
* First-time travelers welcome; 2 years of experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
* Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
* Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions and PPE, IV vasopressors, phlebotomy, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, starting and maintaining IVs, and triage
* Patients served include neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Travelers may be expected to float to like units within their scope based on facility needs

This facility is a full-service emergency department equipped to handle a high daily census and a broad range of patient acuity levels. The unit supports a wide variety of patient age groups from neonates to geriatrics and is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team. The facility is affiliated with a heart hospital and offers comprehensive specialty support services to ensure quality patient care across all departments.
