Job Details:

* Shifts alternate between 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM and 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM throughout the schedule
* On-call requirement includes 2 forty-eight-hour weekends and 14 weekday shifts per 6-week period
* Weeknight call runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Weekend call begins Saturday at 7:00 AM and runs through Monday at 7:00 AM
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period
* 1 year of recent CVOR experience required
* Cardiovascular scrub experience required; thoracic, vascular, general, and robotic surgery scrub experience is a plus
* Cerner (PowerChart/SurgiNet) charting experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
* Active NJ or Compact nursing license required
* Work settings include CVOR, General OR, and Hybrid OR using fiber optic light sources and cords
* Cardiac procedures include CABG, TAVR, LVAD/RVAD, mitral valve replacement, atrial septal defect repair, pericardial window, cardiomyoplasty, and laparoscopic cardiac surgery
* Vascular procedures include AAA repair, aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, endovascular aneurysm repair, TEVAR, femoral popliteal bypass graft, and arteriovenous fistula repair
* Thoracic procedures include lobe resection, lung resection, mediastinoscopy, thoracotomy, and VATS
* General procedures include appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic assisted procedures, robotics, and infection control
* Floating is required as needed between two campuses approximately 12 miles apart (15-20 minute drive); travelers are first to float
* Hospital provides scrubs
* Orientation is 6 days: Monday through Friday with a required return the following Monday for Day 6
* Travelers may be required to make up missed shifts during the same week or at the end of the assignment
* All scheduling requests and time-off requests must be submitted at the time of submission

Facility:

This southeastern New Jersey health system operates two hospital campuses and is home to advanced cardiothoracic surgery, structural heart, and advanced heart failure programs. The Heart & Lung Institute performs complex cardiac procedures and houses 13 OR rooms, serving adult and geriatric patient populations with a daily census of 30-40 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
