Opportunity:

RN - Medical Surgical

Job Details:

* Medical Surgical unit with remote telemetry
* Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Patient ratio of 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
* 38-bed unit with an average daily census of 33
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call requirements
* Float required to other similar units within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Holiday work required: if 1-2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work two
* Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th?12th) and no RTO permitted during orientation week
* 24 orientation hours required
* Required charting system: Epic
* Additional systems used: Pyxis, SBAR
* Required certification: BLS
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Skills required include: Med/Surg, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral line care and management, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and isolation precautions/PPE
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
