Job Details:

* Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
* Night shifts preferred; straight days will not be accepted
* Weekend coverage required with 4 weekend shifts per contract
* Patient ratio of 6 patients per nurse on days, nights, and weekends
* Treats patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* 27 rooms and 34 beds on unit
* Cerner charting system experience required
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Required certification: BLS (AHA only)
* Active PA or Compact license required
* Candidates must be available to work every other holiday
* Must be willing to float within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
* Two supervisor references preferred
* Pre-approved time off: two instances
* Orientation hours: 12
* Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, bariatric surgery, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, heparin administration, insulin administration, management of dysrhythmias, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and additional clinical skills
* Patient diagnoses include medical non-monitored conditions
* Special procedures include post-op joint replacement, post-op weight loss management surgery, and post-op general surgery
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation

The unit supports a diverse patient population across multiple age groups and specializes in post-operative care including joint replacement and general surgery.
