RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with availability for both day shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) and night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
* Rotating weekend schedule with every other weekend required
* Holiday expectations include one major and one minor holiday
* No on-call responsibilities
* Schedule made in 3-week increments with RTO requiring manager approval
* Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
* First-time travelers are accepted
* Strong Labor and Delivery skills required including cervical exams, antepartum and labor care, amnio infusion, epidural support, fetal monitoring, IV placement, and Pitocin administration
* Post-partum experience required including mom and baby care beyond the transition period and basic breastfeeding support
* Experience with couplet care once mom and baby are stable required
* Patient ratios follow AWHONN and NANN guidelines: 1:1 for active labor and 1:2 for non-active laboring patients
* Level II Perinatal Center caring for patients 32 weeks and above
* Common diagnoses include hypertension, magnesium administration, medication management for substance abuse, epidurals, and fetal monitoring
* Facility delivers approximately 175-200 babies per month
* Will float between Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby units based on competency only; will not float to START unit
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certification (AWHONN or Relia's module)
* Required EMR experience: EPIC Stork and GE Centricity
* Required equipment experience: Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing system
* HUGS Security system experience preferred
* Scrubs provided by facility

Facility:

This facility is a Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds offering comprehensive obstetric and perinatal services. The unit includes 9 LDR rooms, 2 OB ORs, 2 OB PACUs, an 11-bed Level II NICU, a 4-bed Pediatrics unit, a 20-bed Mother/Baby unit, an 18-bed START unit for Perinatal Addiction, and 3 OB ED beds for patients 20 weeks and above. The facility provides robust support services including 24/7 hospitalist coverage, a Laborist OB/GYN, respiratory therapy, midwife and family practice groups, and phlebotomy services.
