RN - 4N Ortho - Neuro

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available for both days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) and nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) with a 30-minute lunch break
* Every-other-weekend requirement; weekend shifts for nights are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; days are Saturday and Sunday
* Holiday coverage may be required depending on the needs of the unit
* Travelers will be scheduled where needed; block scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met
* Low census call-off possible depending on contract terms
* Travelers are first to float to any MedSurg units; if floated to Tele, patients will be assigned within skillset
* Patient ratio of 1 to 6
* 33-bed unit with all private rooms
* Charge Nurse available 24/7; night charge nurse will always take a full patient assignment
* Patient Care Techs (PCTs) assist with vitals, finger stick blood sugar, ADLs, and Foley discontinuation
* Common diagnoses include elective surgeries (hips, knees, shoulders), fractures from falls, back and neck neurosurgeries, and general MedSurg patients
* Must have experience with orthopedic patients and PCA pumps
* IV fluids and PCA pumps used; no heparin or other drips
* CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen available and managed by respiratory therapy
* Remote telemetry available if needed, monitored by the third floor; RNs do not read strips
* EPIC experience required; charting system is EPIC
* Required certification: BLS (AHA)
* Dress code: Royal blue scrubs required; scrub jackets must be royal blue; no hoodies or sweat jackets permitted
* Must submit an unexpired copy of candidate's driver's license with all submissions
