Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Candidate will work both Stepdown and ICU for this opening
* Four weekend shifts per schedule period with rotating holidays
* Every-other-weekend requirement; nights are Friday/Saturday
* Patient ratios of 1:1-2 for ICU and 1:3 for Stepdown
* Charting system: EPIC
* Phillips Cardiac Monitors with no monitor techs; central monitor station and hardwired rooms with data flowing directly into EPIC
* ICU Medical IV Pumps with all typical drips including moderate conscious sedation
* Ventilators include Servo and Hamilton models managed 100% by Respiratory Therapy
* No IV team on site
* Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available in-house 24/7
* Designated Charge Nurse available 24/7
* Common diagnoses include post cath lab, balloon pumps, and CRRT using NxStage
* No Open Hearts; thoracic surgeon available twice per month
* Blocked shift requests will not be considered
* Navy blue scrubs required; navy or white jacket; white or navy undershirt; natural hair color only; distasteful tattoos must be covered
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
* Preferred certifications: PALS, TNCC
* BSN not required
* 1-2 shifts of orientation with a preceptor following general hospital orientation

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 20-bed combined MICU/SICU/Neuro intensive care unit with an average daily census of 16-17 patients per day. The unit features a Pulmonary Critical Care Intensivist in-house during the day and a hospitalist at night, ensuring around-the-clock physician coverage. The facility supports a comprehensive range of critical care services and also provides Stepdown support, with a dedicated Charge Nurse available 24/7 responding to all rapid responses and codes.
