Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

* 8-hour day shifts
* Float required within PACU and ability to float to other facilities
* Patient ratio of 1:2 during day shifts
* Treats patient age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
* Ambulatory/outpatient experience required
* Pediatric PACU experience required
* Phase I PACU experience required
* Phase II Recovery experience required
* Pre-Post operative experience required with ability to float between
* Teaching hospital experience required
* Travel experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* BSN required
* California RN license required
* Required certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS
* Preferred certifications: CPAN, CAPA
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Required skills include: Pedi PACU, Phase I and Phase II Recovery, Pre-Post operative procedures, airway assessment, dysrhythmia recognition and management, management of pediatric patients, blood product administration, extubation LMA/ET, malignant hyperthermia protocol, pain assessment and management, PCA pump management, and interpretation of ABGs
* Special equipment includes PCAs, PNIs, chest tubes, and a variety of orthopedic braces and slings
* Unit is heavily orthopedic but also includes endocrine, GYN, pulmonary, plastics, ECT, ENT, and pain injection cases
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
* 2 references from most recent employer required at time of submittal

This facility is a prestigious academic medical center and teaching hospital located in the San Francisco Bay Area, recognized for its world-class patient care and innovative medical research. The PACU unit maintains high standards of care with a daily census of approximately 30 patients and is supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team. The unit handles a wide variety of surgical cases with a strong emphasis on orthopedic procedures alongside endocrine, GYN, pulmonary, plastics, and ENT cases.
