RN - Med Surg | Tele

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Typically 2 to 3 holidays required
* Low census on-call requirement
* No 48-hour guarantees
* No blocked scheduling requests
* No more than 5 days of requested time off
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:5-6, Nights 1:6
* 90-bed unit with double occupancy beds
* Common diagnoses include pneumonia, COPD, radiation patients, AKI, occasional lap chole, and appendectomy
* Required to manage non-titrated Heparin and Lasix drips
* Required to sign off on telemetry strips printed by the telemetry tech and verify or identify changes in rhythm
* RT equipment includes BiPAP and stable trach management
* Patient care assistants assigned 8 to 12 patients per person
* Floating requirements include MedSurg, stable low acuity ICU, RDU, and Foothills clinic RDU
* Orientation includes one NEO day, one clinical education/EPIC day, and one day on the floor
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Charting system: Epic EMR proficiency required and must be recent
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required with 1 year of specialty experience
* Trauma Level I or II recent hospital experience required
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: BLS; ACLS preferred

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 90-bed Med Surg and Telemetry unit with a dedicated monitor tech to support nursing staff in managing telemetry patients. The facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering a full range of medical and surgical services. The unit utilizes Epic EMR for charting and maintains structured nurse-to-patient ratios to support quality patient care across all shifts.
