Job Details:

* Night shift position working 18:45 to 07:15 on a 3x12 or 4x12 schedule
* Every other weekend coverage required
* Float required - may be floated to other units based on need and skill set
* Staffing ratio of 1:6 on nights
* Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics
* Medication system: Omnicell
* Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
* Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
* Previous charge experience required
* Travel experience required - no first-time travelers
* Patient diagnoses include Stroke/TIA, Seizure, Syncope, PNA, Chest Pain, Dialysis, Acute Kidney Failure, Post Heart Cath, Respiratory Failure, Encephalopathy, CHF, and Sepsis
* Unit serves as the inpatient unit for stroke and TIA patients as well as higher acuity med-surg patients
* Ability to perform peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation required
* Strong focus on patient experience
* Required skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, heparin and insulin administration, high flow nasal cannula, wound care, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Active Tennessee RN license required

Facility:

This inpatient facility specializes in stroke and TIA care while also managing higher acuity medical-surgical patients. The unit operates with 30 beds and a daily census of 27, supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. The facility places a strong emphasis on patient experience and is equipped to handle a wide range of complex medical diagnoses and procedures.
