2S Med Rehab RN

Job Details:

* 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Weekday, every other weekend, and float schedule
* Guaranteed hours: 36 or 48 hours per week options available - discuss with manager
* 24-bed Medical Rehabilitation unit specializing in cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, amputees, spinal cord injuries, deconditioning, and neurological diseases
* Patient diagnoses include SCI, TBI, stroke, amputation, neuromuscular disorders, and severe deconditioning related to cardiac or respiratory events
* Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including physiatrist, NP, nurse, therapists, and social worker
* Average length of stay is approximately 2 weeks with therapy provided 3 hours per day Monday through Friday
* Patient ratios: Days 1:4/5, Nights 1:5/6
* Patient age groups: Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
* May be floated to Med Surg within scope to meet facility needs
* No on-call requirement
* Every other weekend required
* Block schedule requests considered - discuss during interview
* No RTO restrictions; must include requests on application and discuss during interview
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; minimum 1 year of in-specialty experience required
* Charge nurse experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS (must be AHA); acute care rehab certification preferred
* Charting system: Cerner experience required
* WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for submission
* Candidate must have a permanent address 100 miles or more from the facility; candidates between 75-99 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
* Scrub color: Royal Blue/White or combination
* Parking garage is free for travelers

This facility is a Short-Term Acute Care Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital with 855 total staffed beds. As a member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH), the facility maintains a high standard of clinical excellence and education. The Medical Rehabilitation unit benefits from robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries.
