Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Every other weekend schedule required
* No on-call responsibilities
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
* If one or two major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work two
* Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 12 orientation hours required
* Patients served across all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* 59-bed emergency department with a daily census of 250 visits
* Telemetry competency exam required
* Special equipment includes Arctic Sun and Glucommander
* Procedures and conditions include level 3 trauma (in process), primary stroke, CHF, STEMI, and chest pain center
* Required skills: care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, and triage
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, phlebotomy, social services, rapid response teams, interpretation services, transportation, and unit secretary
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC, ENPC, PALS
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a large emergency department with 59 beds and manages approximately 250 patient visits per day. The facility is a primary stroke center and chest pain center, and is in the process of achieving level 3 trauma designation. The emergency department is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team and is equipped with advanced medical technology to support complex patient care needs across all age groups.
