Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience in an ER setting required
* Travel experience preferred but not required (first-time travelers with Level 1 ER experience will be considered)
* Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 4-5 weekend shifts per 6-week period
* For 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM shifts, Friday and Saturday count as weekends
* For 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM shifts, Saturday and Sunday count as weekends
* Scheduling type: Other
* Candidates may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
* Time off requests must be submitted at time of submission; any time off requested after offer will not be approved
* Time off requests exceeding one week will not be approved unless special circumstances apply
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC (PALS can be used to meet ENPC requirement)
* KY state license or compact license required
* Required skills: Care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, triage
* Trauma Level 1 experience preferred but not required
* Facility serves adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatric patients
* Daily census of 90 patients with approximately 250 visits per day
* 84 rooms and 100 beds available
* Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary

This large academic medical center operates a high-volume emergency department with 84 rooms and 100 beds, serving a diverse patient population ranging from infants to geriatric patients. The facility provides robust interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The emergency department handles approximately 250 visits per day and maintains a comprehensive onboarding process including competency and specialty-specific exams to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
