Open Position: RN - Observation Unit

Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with availability for both day shifts (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM) and night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
* Every other weekend requirement
* No holiday requirement
* Standby/call requirement applies
* Floating may be required to similar floors within Region Two facilities located in Lakewood, WA, Enumclaw, WA, and Tacoma, WA with a rate differential when floated outside of primary location
* Primary assignment at St. Joseph Medical Center location
* Patient ratios of 4:1
* ER/Trauma Center with ER Observation unit managing 8-16 patients per day across 8-16 beds/trauma bays
* Manage boarding patients waiting for inpatient rooms within the hospital
* RNs monitor their own telemetry strips
* Charting completed using Epic EMR
* Common diagnoses include Med/Surg Telemetry patients
* Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
* In-house security, charge nurse/house supervisor, nurse aids, paramedics, and patient sitters available on unit
* Lab draws performed by phlebotomy team
* House transporters available for X-Ray and CT transport
* Oxygen and SVN respiratory therapy equipment utilized on unit
* Scrub color requirement: Navy blue
* Unit-specific orientation: 1 day
* Required certifications: BLS Certification, Washington State nursing license
* BSN not required
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
