Opportunity:

RN - Family Birth Center (L&D)

Job Details:

* Night shifts running from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
* Every other weekend requirement with 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule (Saturday/Sunday days; Friday/Saturday nights)
* First to float when census is low
* Unit consists of 19 postpartum beds, 12 L&D beds, 2 ORs, and 1 PACU
* Patient ratios follow California standards: 1:4 postpartum to 1:1 labor and delivery
* Float opportunities to Peds (couplets) and NICU (feeders and growers with prior experience only)
* Handles both low and high-risk deliveries with a Level III NICU on site
* Transfers out patients with known congenital defects requiring immediate surgery
* Laborist (OB physician) in house 24/7
* Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
* No IV team on site
* No ventilator experience required
* No telemetry required; Phillips used for fetal heart monitoring (Fetal Link)
* EMR system: Cerner and Fetal Link for fetal surveillance
* Scrub colors provided by the facility
* Floor-specific orientation: 3 shifts if able to circulate, otherwise 2 shifts (circulating not required)
* Holiday rotation works in with permanent staff schedule
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Telemetry, L&D, Emergency, and Critical Care RNs must pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on day one (pass/fail)
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring (Adv-AWHONN), BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

This acute care facility is a Level II trauma center offering comprehensive maternal and newborn services through its Family Birth Center. The unit is supported by a Level III NICU, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and around-the-clock pharmacy services, ensuring high-quality care for both low and high-risk patients. The facility utilizes Cerner and Fetal Link technology to support clinical staff in delivering safe and effective patient care.
