Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts with varied start times between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Holidays worked into permanent staff rotation
* On-call requirement of one day per month, with potential for two days per month depending on call team rotation
* Patient ratio of 1:4
* 28-bed emergency department with 4 fast track beds, 2 trauma bays, and hallway beds
* EMR system: Cerner
* Scrub color: Navy
* Telemetry equipment: GE
* Ventilator experience required
* Must be comfortable working in a high-volume, high-acuity environment seeing approximately 155 patients per day
* Common patient types include trauma, stroke, pediatrics, and psychiatric cases
* Level II trauma experience or above required
* Charge nurse available and does not take patient assignments
* EMT support available, including one per shift and a mid-shift EMT performing tech duties
* Hospitalist and intensivist available in-house 24/7
* Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
* Self-scheduling by seniority with schedules made at least 2 weeks in advance
* Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 to 3 shifts
* No floating required
* Proctored Dysrhythmia Test administered on-site on day one - pass/fail format
* Minimum 2 years of experience in emergency nursing specialty required
* Travel experience preferred
* Level II trauma experience or above strongly preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS; TNCC preferred
* BSN not required
* Valid state nursing license required

This acute care facility operates a 28-bed emergency department equipped with dedicated fast track beds, trauma bays, and additional hallway beds to accommodate high patient volumes. The facility maintains 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist coverage along with round-the-clock respiratory therapy and pharmacy support. The organization is a Level II trauma center focused on building a collaborative, team-oriented environment in the emergency department and utilizes Cerner for electronic medical record charting.
