RN - IMCU

Job Details:

* 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
* Every other weekend requirement with 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule (Days: Saturday/Sunday)
* First to float policy with floating to 4 West or Med/Surg departments
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Patient ratio of 1:3-4 with 2-3 unit aides available
* 38-bed true telemetry unit operating at full capacity
* Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, renal failure, respiratory failure, alcohol withdrawal, and post-PCI patients
* Required to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips - passing dysrhythmia exam required on day one of assignment
* Common drips include DKA, Heparin, Amiodarone, and Cardizem (all set rates or protocol driven) - titration of drips not required
* RT equipment includes BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula (no vents)
* Charting system: Cerner with GE Apex Telemetry monitoring boxes and 2 central monitor technicians
* Self-scheduling by seniority with schedules made approximately 3 weeks in advance and shift trades available
* Scrub color: Navy
* 1-shift unit orientation provided
* Must have 2-3 years of experience in specialty; open to first-time travelers
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* BSN not required
* Must be self-motivated, team oriented, and invested in patient experience, HCAHPS, and core measures
* Strong emphasis on bedside shift report and patient experience

This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering a comprehensive range of medical services including telemetry, intermediate care, and multiple specialty units. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic medical records system and maintains a strong focus on patient experience, HCAHPS scores, and core quality measures. The organization is known for being traveler-friendly and fostering a team-oriented environment with dedicated charge nurses and resource staff who support floor nurses without taking patient assignments.
