RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* 4 weekend shifts required per schedule
* First to float to Mother/Baby and Postpartum when needed
* Holiday coverage requested as needed
* No on-call or standby required, voluntary only
* Must have experience with C-sections including ability to confidently circulate and recover C-sections (scrubbing not required)
* Must have computer charting experience, preferably Cerner
* Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: mostly 2:1 depending on acuity, Antepartum can be 4:1, C-sections 1:1
* Required to titrate Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate drips per protocol
* Work with common diagnoses including laboring or preterm pregnant patients, gestations 28 weeks and greater
* Document using Cerner EMR and Fetal Link EFM system
* 1 week of floor-specific orientation provided
* Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within the first week of onboarding (maximum 2 attempts)
* Must pass a pass/fail Sim lab on day 1 of orientation (study guides provided)
* Scrub color: Blue
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Facility:

This acute care facility features an 18-bed LDRP unit, a 14-bed OB triage area, and an 8-bed Antepartum unit, averaging 8 to 10 deliveries per day. The unit is equipped with 2 fully equipped OR suites for C-sections and is supported by an OB Hospitalist in house, anesthesia available 24/7, respiratory therapy available 24/7, an IV team, and pharmacy services available around the clock. The facility operates as a Level II EQ center accepting gestations of 28 weeks and greater, and is also designated as a Level 1 Trauma Center.
