RN - Ambulatory Surgery OR

Job Details:

* Work 8-hour day shifts with alternating weekly schedules: 4 shifts one week (32-hour guarantee) and 5 shifts the next week (40-hour guarantee) during a 2-week pay period
* Shift times include 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM and 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM with scheduled late shifts on average twice per week
* No call, no weekends, and no holiday requirements
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
* Must have strong overall OR experience
* Experience with orthopedic procedures including total joints, scopes, fractures, and podiatry preferred
* Common cases include Ortho, GYN/GU, ENT, and Ophthalmology
* Department operates 10 suites plus 2 procedure rooms averaging 40-50 cases per day
* Scrubbing not required for RNs but is helpful
* May float to share staff with the Inpatient OR on campus as needed
* Scrubs are provided by the facility
* Unit/department-specific orientation is 3-5 days
* Charting system: Cerner
* BSN not required
* All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
* Client may cancel up to 12 hours every 13 weeks

This acute care facility operates a busy ambulatory surgery department featuring 10 surgical suites and 2 procedure rooms, handling 40-50 cases per day across a range of specialties including orthopedics, GYN/GU, ENT, and ophthalmology. The department utilizes a modified self-scheduling approach, offering staff flexibility in selecting preferred shift times and days off. The facility maintains a collaborative staffing model with shared resources between the ambulatory and inpatient OR departments and uses Cerner as its electronic charting system.
