Job Details:
* Work 10-hour shifts with available schedules of Days: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or Evenings: 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM
* Work every other weekend, including both Saturday and Sunday
* No on-call required
* Patient ratio of 7
* May be required to float to sister hospital emergency department to perform the same duties if overstaffed
* Work in the Adult and Pediatric Emergency Room department
* Conduct crisis risk assessments for adults and pediatric patients
* Evaluate patients suffering from mental health illness and substance use disorder
* Provide level of care recommendations as a consultant, directed by an ED attending provider or APP
* Assess patients for risk of danger to self, danger to others, or grave disability
* Perform biopsychosocial assessments and conduct mental health assessments
* Provide crisis intervention and management including teen suicides, drug/alcohol-related issues
* Facilitate discharge and contingency planning and coordinate with internal and external team members
* Must be licensed as a Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Independent Clinical Social Worker
* Full licensure required - associate license will not suffice
* Minimum of 1 year of experience required with 3 years preferred
* Hospital experience preferred
* Experience in conducting crisis risk assessments for adults and pediatrics required
* Required certifications: LCSW, LMFT, or LMHC
* Epic charting system experience required
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
Facility:
This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center, as well as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, with 629 staffed beds. Operating as a teaching hospital, the facility provides a wide range of medical services across adult and pediatric populations. The emergency department is supported by an interdisciplinary team and utilizes Epic for charting, with no parking fees for staff.
