Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM (days) or 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (nights)
* Day shift position with every other weekend requirement
* Expected to work holidays on a rotating basis with permanent staff
* First to float policy in effect
* Level III NICU with 20 beds
* Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
* Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required with Level III or above experience
* Common patient diagnoses include congenital abnormalities, feeders/growers, and ventilated patients (no ECMO patients)
* Must be able to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips
* Will be expected to titrate drips
* Ventilator management primarily handled by respiratory therapy
* Neonatologist on site 24/7
* Respiratory therapy available on unit 24/7
* Pharmacy support available 24/7
* No IV team on unit
* No nurse aides on unit
* Charge nurse present and does not typically take patients
* No floating to other units
* 3 shifts of floor-specific orientation provided
* Charting via Cerner EMR
* Navy scrubs required
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), NIHSS

This acute care facility operates a 20-bed Level III NICU offering advanced neonatal care for critically ill and premature newborns. The unit is supported by a comprehensive team including on-site neonatologists available 24/7, around-the-clock respiratory therapy directly on the unit, and 24/7 pharmacy services. The facility is equipped with Cerner EMR and maintains a strong focus on high-acuity neonatal care with specialized support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
