Opportunity:

RN - Medical Surgical

Job Details:

* Work on a 36-bed medical surgical unit with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
* Unit staffing includes a secretary every day and PRN techs
* Perform basic patient assessments and general care including wound care, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, strokes, and seizures
* Manage patients requiring dialysis or PCA pumps with Heparin as the only drip
* Support post-operative procedures including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs
* Utilize equipment including PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps
* Document using Meditech system
* Schedule includes 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week block
* Float over core staff per floating policy
* Conduct bedside shift reports and safety checks every 1-2 hours with focus on communication and responsiveness
* Follow HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions
* Maintain 100% medication scanning including controlled substances
* Dress code requires scrubs in Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
