Opportunity:

PCU/Stepdown RN

Job Details:

* Work on a PCU/Stepdown unit with a focus on neuroscience, including neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry patients
* Patient ratios of 1:4-5
* Every other weekend shift required
* No on-call required
* Block schedules not required
* 48-hour shifts approved
* Float between units as needed; travelers are first to float to Telemetry or Medical/Surgical floors when overstaffed
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Cardiac drip experience required, including titration and management
* At least 1 year of experience required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, craniotomy care, CVA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery care, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury care, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury care
* Unit is a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation
* Unit holds Spine Center of Excellence JCAHO designation and NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center designation
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* No parking fee
* Candidates may choose one holiday, either Thanksgiving or Christmas, but cannot have both
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during submittal

Facility:

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation, housing 629 staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it provides comprehensive specialty services including a designated stroke unit, a Spine Center of Excellence, and a Level 3 Epilepsy Center, all with JCAHO designations. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and offers interpretation services as part of its interdisciplinary support.
