Opportunity:

MT/CLS - Hematology/Blood Bank

Job Details:

* Work night shift schedule on a 7 on 7 off rotation from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
* Rotation begins on Thursday nights
* Training will be completed on day shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM for 2 to 3 weeks
* Must have strong blood bank experience
* Collect, process, and receive specimens including blood, urine, fecal, and body fluid samples for analysis across all clinical laboratory departments
* Evaluate and solve problems related to collection and processing of biological specimens across all age ranges
* Participate in the evaluation of new laboratory techniques and procedures including assessment of personnel, equipment, cost, and reference intervals
* Write and revise technical procedures as needed
* Perform complex laboratory procedures and recognize deviations from expected results
* Analyze and correct problems using scientific principles
* Analyze quality control data, make judgments concerning results, and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision
* Answer inquiries regarding test results, methodology, test specificity and sensitivity, and specific factors influencing test results
* Review all instrument indicators and temperature monitors for laboratory departments
* Maintain self-competency in all required laboratory skills
* Bachelor's degree required (Associates Degree accepted for grandfathered personnel)
* CLS or MT (ASCP) certification or equivalent required
